The Ferrari
Ferrari S.p.A. is a sports car manufacturer based in Maranello, Italy. Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929. the company sponsored drivers and manufactured race cars before moving into production of street-legal vehicles in 1947 as Ferrari S.p.A. Throughout its history, the company has been noted for its continued participation in racing especially Formula One where it enjoyed Great Sucess



Founder
1898

Enzo Anselmo Ferrari is born on the outskirts of Modena on the 18th of February 1898, Enzo's father owns a small metal engineering company employing around 30 people which build roofs and bridges for the state railway

1917
Enzo serves in the Italian army during the 1st World War and is assigned to the 3rd Alphine Artillery Division,However he became seriously ill and and undergoes two operations before he was honorably discharged


1919
Enzo moves to Milan to work for C.M.N. (Costruzioni Meccaniche Nazionali) , first as a test driver and later a race car driver He makes his competitive debut in the 1919 Parma-Poggio di Berceto hillclimb race in which he finishes fourth in the three-litre category category
1921
Ferrari competes in several races as an official Alfa Driver, He won second in Mugello in July
1979
Ferrari receives the honorary title of Cavalier di Gran Croce dela Republicca Italiana from Pertini

1987
The f40, The Last Car to be created under Enzo Ferrari's Management was unveiled
1988
The University of Modena confers Ferrari with an Honorary Degree in Physics
Enzo Ferrari passes away at the age of 90 in the 14th of August

History of Ferrari

Enzo Ferrari never intended to produce road cars when he had formed Scuderia Ferrari (literally "Ferrari Stable", and usually used to mean "Team Ferrari", it is correctly pronounced "skoo deh REE ah") in 1929 as a sponsor for amateur drivers headquartered in Modena,Ferrari prepared and successfully raced various drivers in Alfa Romeo Cars
until 1938, when he was hired by Alfa Romeo to head their motor racing department.
In 1988, Enzo Ferrari oversaw the launch of the F40 the last new Ferrari to be launched before his death later that year, and arguably one of the most famous supercars ever made.On May 17, 2009 in Maranello, Italy a 1957 250 Testa Rossa was auctioned, by RM auctions and Sotheby's,for $12.1 Million a world record for the most expensive car ever sold at an auction.

The Chairman:Luca di Montezemolo
Born in Bologna (Italy) on August 31 1947, Luca di Montezemolo graduated in Law from thE University of Rome in 1971, later specialising in International Commercial Law at Columbia University in New York. He joined Ferrari in 1973 as assistant to Enzo Ferrari, then worked as Team Manager for the Ferrari F1 Department between 1974 and 1975.
During this period, he won two Formula 1 Drivers’ World Championships with Niki Lauda in 1975 and 1977, before being appointed Director of External Relations for the Fiat Group. In 1981, he became CEO of Itedi S.p.A., the Fiat Group’s publishing division which includes the Italian newspaper La Stampa. In 1984, Montezemolo took over at the helm of Cinzano International S.p.A. and also organised the Azzurra challenge, Italy’s first ever foray into the America’s Cup. From 1985 to 1990 he devoted himself to the world of football as head of Italia ‘90 when Italy hosted the World Cup finals.
At the end of the World Cup, Montezemolo took over as CEO of RCS Video before making the move to Ferrari in November 1991. Between 2001 and 2004, he was Chairman of the Italian Federation of Newspaper Publishers (FIEG). His current positions include Chairman of the Bologna International Trade Fair Body. Luca di Montezemolo is also on the Boards of Directors of several other prestigious organisations. In 2004 Montezemolo was appointed both Chairman of the Assocation of Italian Industries, Confindustria, and of the Fiat Group, but he has not renounce to the direction of the Company that he loves: Ferrari.



The Vice President:Piero Ferrari

Born in Castelvetro in Modena on 22 May 1945, Piero Ferrari is the son of the company's founder Enzo, and has been with Ferrari from a young age. Piero has held senior positions in both the Racing and Industrial divisions of the company. In February 2005, he received an honorary degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Modena. Piero also runs his own engineering business, and is Chairman of Piaggio Aero Industries.
The Ferrari CEO S.p.A. :Amedeo Felisa
Amedeo Felisa was born in 1946 in Milan and graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University Politecnico of Milan. Amedeo joined Alfa Romeo's Innovation and Experimentation Department in 1972 and became Head of Product Development in 1987.In 1990 he joined Ferrari, and in July 2001 he became General Manager of the Gran Turismo Department.In June 2004, Amedeo was appointed Deputy General Manager of Ferrari SpA, retaining his role as Gran Turismo General Manager. In 2006 Amedeo became General Manager of Ferrari and CEO of Ferrari in 2008.
Stefano Dominicali
In Ferrari since 1991, from 2008 he has been Director of Gestione Sportiva of Ferrari S.p.A.




Mario Almondo
In Ferrari since 1991, from 2009 he has been Quality Director of Ferrari S.p.A.




Italo Valenti
Since May 2009 he has been Administration, Finance and Control Director of Ferrari S.p.A.
Sebastian Rio
Since September 2008 he has been Industrial Director of Ferrari S.p.A.


Flavio Manzoni
Since January 2010 Design Director of Ferrari S.p.A.
